southport, august 1956 is what is written on the back of this photograph. it's from my father's collection and one of a few that fascinated me the most when i was a kid.

i think as a little girl - still used to the often kind of boring snapshots with the subject right in the middle - it was exciting, refreshing to see the other stuff that was out there.. better, more dynamic photos with at first glance sometimes an unusual composition..

does that make sense? oh and it didn't take me two months to come up with this reply; i only saw your comment just now.. ;)

I agree, the use of negative space is very nice. Instead of doing a portrait of them centered, to do them landscape and off center.

Yes, I understand. That's okay, it's sounded like you've had some issues recently and I figured you'd get around to it when you could. ;)
