if i have not yet wished you a happy new year, i'm wishing you one now!
and thanks for all your holiday wishes, cards, virtual gifts, birthday wishes..
also thank you, sekrit bunneh, for the great gifts.

i'll give you a short update on my week

new year's eve:

watched the doctor who christmas episode again, which we had recorded. saskia wanted to watch a charlie brown christmas and said she had found a torrent of what she thought was that particular tv special. i do remember watching a few charlie brown animations in my childhood, and this one may have been among those. however, you should know that we don't grow up with charlie brown as i believe american kids do. or at least used to. over here there's no tradition of annual screenings of these specials..

we also watched arsenal's match against birmingham city. we started the new year with jools' hootenanny.

new year's day:

ok so now it's at least 15 hours later. it's the next morning, saskia checks her computer and says that the download is almost finished but not quite. it turned out she had downloaded a bluray rip with a file size of 2.19 GB, and that's a lot considering the whole thing has a running time of under 30 minutes. we loved watching it though.

january 5th (my birthday):

i only had a small party, with just a few friends. we should do more stuff together. i'm sure i'm not saying that for the first time..

some of the things i got:
a moleskine sketchbook
a sweater
david byrne's bicycle diaries
a comic book (agent 327)
a mixtape

You are correct, we have annual screens of Charlie Brown specials around whatever holiday they celebrate. We grow up with them, for the most part. It's kind of comforting actually.

Happy (Belated) Birthday!

I wish you all the best for the New Year, Tamar!
I watched A Charlie Brown Christmas once and later one of the other specials. I checked Wikipedia and it looks like it may have been It Was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown.
