i tried to post this earlier, but livejournal wouldn't let me.

yesterday i spent a few hours having fun with my best male friend in the town where he lives. it was too hot to do much and we were too lazy anyway. all we did was sit and lay down on the grass by the river for hours. at some point we had to get ourselves something to eat and drink, otherwise we wouldn't have left 'our' spot. we read a bit, had a smoke, but mostly talked.

i love these long conversations with him. but first you need to know that he's one of the few people on this planet who owns a linda mccartney album. yes linda mccartney.. i know nothing about her music, but henk promised to make me a tape.
we talked about linda's photography, other photographers like man ray, lee miller.. whether man ray has ever taken a photograph of gertrude stein - neither of us has ever seen it, but we think he did. we decided that we need to know more about life in paris in the 1920's & 1930's and read up on dada and surrealism.

i'm almost too young - almost - but does anyone else remember gilbert o'sullivan? funny looking bloke, wasn't (isn't) he?

some people think it's weird to talk about masturbation with a guy. it probably would be with any other guy i know, but with this particular friend i can talk about anything.

we were walking to the train station, when it started to rain quite heavily. thunder and lightning made us walk faster. it stopped raining just about when we said goodbye and i got on the train.

back in my home town i heard that the weather had been worse there. they must have had much more rain and a centre for asylum seekers had part of their roof blown off. at home my girl called me. she wanted to check if i was okay. fallen trees on the rail road tracks and power lines struck by lightning. apparently i had just gotten home in time.

i don't mind writing entries like this one. but only now and then. everyday life can be boring half of the time. nobody wants to know each and every day what everyone else on their friends list had for breakfast, right?
anyway, i think you know what i mean. like you said: variety is important.

You said you read a bit. Do you mind telling me what book? And which river you were talking about?
Or is that too weird?
