okapi

i was still in bed when two children rang my doorbell this morning. when i opened the door, they looked at eachother and without saying anything they both sat down on the windowsill of my upstairs bedroom. i'm not sure, but somehow i think they were brother and sister.

looking out of the window, i saw a lion walking by, with a part of another animal in his mouth. the children didn't seem to be interested in the animal at all, so i shut the blinds.

i noticed that the girl had skinned her knee. i cleaned it and put a band-aid on it. then the boy started talking. at first i couldn't understand what he was saying. he seemed to be repeating the same thing over and over. after a while i understood what it was:

the okapi isn't a domestic animal.

this all happened just before i woke up this morning. i don't think these events really took place, so it must have been a dream. but who knows?

diarmuid gavin has received a silver medal for his bright coloured lollipop garden at the chelsea flower show. have a look here. you either love it or hate it. the same goes for the guy himself. he's a quite well-known designer who has his own programmes on the bbc. his ideas are often great, but it's this smug tv celebrity attitude he displays at times, that i don't much care for.

ahh. i hate it when i have a dream that doesnt feel like a dream. it seems as if it actually happens. sometimes it is weird things that i know could never happen IRL but there are times I have to actually ask someone if the event really happend or not!

maybe there's a simple explanation for this dream. have you been watching the discovery channel or animal planet? and after that ER?
maybe it did happen. you don't live near a zoo do you? ;)

Diarmuid was acting like a spoiled TV celebrity this week when someone laughed at his garden, but I still love him. With that accent he can do no wrong in my books ...

i was once told that the most complicated, strangest stories you dream about, often have the simplest of explanations. maybe it's what someone else said here. i had been watching the discovery channel earlier that week, so i could have seen a lion on there. though that doesn't explain the okapi. the girl with the skinned knee could be a childhood memory or perhaps i was thinking about a cousin of mine who has her birthday in a couple of weeks. who knows?
