war and peace. and war..

yesterday, may 4th, was our annual day of reflection. a day to commemorate those who lost their lives in world war II.

today, may 5th, is a day of celebration. the liberation of our country from german occupation and the official end of the war, 60 years ago.

looking back on the war, sanctimonious politicians tell us in their speeches that it must never happen again and that we shouldn't take peace for granted. the same politicians who decided we should become one of bush's allies in his illegal war in iraq, even though a large majority of the public was against it.

It IS amazing how oblivious most people are to the amount of hypocrisy in the world today.

The ability to think and act in a hypocritical manner seems to be a requirement for politicians nowadays.

Best wel hypocriet ja, mja...

Een land binnen vallen is in hun ogen blijkbaar een stuk beter dan binnengevallen worden.

Madoka hopes you had a nice Liberation Day.
Don't worry about politicians. They say what people want to hear and when they are elected they do what they like.

Only by destroying tyrants and insolent native depots pre-emptively can new Hitlers and Stalins be prevented from arising.

getting rid of sadam sooner or later was inevitable. but did they really need to justify that by making up stories about weapons of mass destruction and iraq being a threat to the world?
