i'm playing with a new livejournal toy! currently this feature is only available for beta testers. it analyzes public entries in your journal and from various fragments it then creates a new post. it still has a few bugs; for example, sometimes it just reposts an old entry and i've noticed it forgets to put space between words here and there. other than that, it works fine and it's great fun!
to illustrate how such an entry can look like, here is one:
ok once again, so this phan van khai bloke sits there in the house, plants, flowers, lots of candles.. quality not quantity. i want to readlove i like to start early.. :p
take a look at this drawing here if you haven't already. i really want to see. but once you've done that, you don't turn off the television and do something else. no, you just keep on watching. and you see all kinds of musical genres: jazz, blues, rock, country..everyone you talk to can name a couple of big chances though. after 120 minutes of football it was still 0-0. knowing holland's shocking record of penalty shoot-outs we feared the worst. we've gone out of the jar
making love
satsumas
earl grey tea
those are some of the things you guys said and answer the odd question here and there..you can't imagine how much i've slept the last couple of days. i forgot to ask her if that's a good thing..i taped a film last night. i was too tired & he had to go somewhere else. if you didn't know any better, you'd think i'm lazy. but i'm not. not really. and at least for now i don't mind these days, but when i finish the deathly hallows, the actual reading time will be a woman who is six or seven months pregnant and who will eventually give birth live on the show! the saddest thing is that i have my own copy of the book.the journals of denton welch. this looks very promising. when i have written down all that i wanted to ask you..what is it that you don't need to wait for valentine's day to show our love and affection.although..i went to the bedroom to put my pyjamas on and i found a photograph of her taken by henri cartier-bresson in 1946. a woman in her early thirties. well i couldn't help but check of course.. she was born in 1917, so in 1946 she would have been good..
things have been rather hectic at work this past week. quite unexpectedly, actually. and i've been told this will continue to be so, most of next week. lately, i've been working about 28 hours a week. that may not sound as much, but you probably know that there's a reason for that. but anyway, i've put in more hours last week. 42 to be exact.
oh and..
/me has donuts
/me made them herself
due to miscommunication we currently have lots of bananas.. :p
so i made donuts filled with banana compote
don’t tell me i’m not resourceful!
also..
in case you haven't noticed already:
mimulus is no more
le roi est mort. vive le roi!
of course we do. what's not to like?
well, gentle reader, that's exactly the question i wanted to ask you..
is it something that other blogging sites have and livejournal doesn't?
or if you've been on livejournal for a while, have there been any changes that you really dislike?
just let it all out! tell me! comment!
and..

i know, compared to many others, i'm going rather slow.
i'm getting there in the end, i suppose.. but slowly, it seems..
unfortunately, i can't spend much more time on support than i'm already doing.
this may change in the future, or it may not.
ETA: i forgot to mention.. i was visited by the paid account fairy today!
i have never made beef teriyaki myself. i remember a while ago, at the end of last year i think, i made chicken teriyaki with baked avocado and tomato. i'll try to find the recipe for you. i'm sure i've written it down somewhere..
i learned that my mother is a little annoyed with a neighbour who claimed events like live earth are useless. nothing more than a 'look i bought the tickets and a t-shirt so i'm helping too' thing. according to this woman, live aid didn't help anyone either, because there is still hunger in africa. i'm not sure where this person gets her information from..
we listened to the beatles' love album and much later charlie parker & miles davis' bluebird: legendary savoy sessions was put on.
oh and my mum asked me: "how many volunteers does this livejournal of yours actually have?"
i told her there are around fifty more or less active volunteers in support. i could be slightly off here, but not much i think. if there's support folk who'd like to correct me, by all means..
sunday evening i watched the three burials of melquiades estrada. it's an excellent film that you really should go see. directed by tommy lee jones, who also plays the lead role, and written by guillermo arriaga.
my return to support after a seven week break went well, i think. i know this sounds silly, but i was a bit nervous at first. i got over that and stopped worrying soon enough though. i answered nine requests on my first day back. all of which were in my three favourite categories, except one. for some reason most were (or ended up) in entries. i really should be looking more actively for interesting requests in styles..

eight emails sent, so far not one reply. i know, some might be on vacation. those that aren't may not have the time. it's not a big deal, but i do think it's a little weird. i'm sure they haven't forgotten me already. i think.
some people seem to have sixteen songs on their copy of cristina branco's corpo iluminado. i have seventeen.
this bonus track is called avec le temps. it was originally written and composed by léo ferré. for everyone, but especially for
fort_kanji and
kissmecaitlin i'm posting it here. i thought it would be nice to couple it with dutch singer wende's version of the same song.
wende
i'm playing the files in foobar2000 now.
i really would prefer one media player that does everything i want it to do. not four or five different ones. but i guess that would be asking too much..
i have done absolutely nothing for livejournal support for about a month now. i just checked and saw that my last touch (yes that's what it's called) is dated may 3rd. i really want to get back into this.
i thought it would be a good idea to email some people, and that's what i did. i know, one month doesn't seem that long and i never stopped reading my friends page. still, i may have some catching up to do..
a while ago i mentioned that i sort of had lost interest in things that i used to love doing. i also didn't feel confident enough to answer support requests.
right now i think i'm ready to dive back in.
just let me check the water temperature first.. :D
the misguided people who started all this crap can be found at warriorsforinnocence.org
(not linked, because some people have been reporting that they found spyware on their computer right after visiting this site)
in this livejournal news post six apart's chairman and ceo barak berkowitz explains the situation and apologizes for screwing up. that's good, though i must admit they took their time..

the plan was to go back to work on monday, but that didn't happen. i already had a feeling this would take longer than a week.. i don't usually see my doctor when i just have the flu, but saskia thought it was about time that i did, and she phoned for a house call.
most of the flu symptoms have disappeared, but i still have a terrible pain in my neck that comes and goes. the main problem, however, is that i get tired so easily and i also can't stand too long before my legs start to ache.
the doctor reckons it's a combination of the flu and being overworked. i should take plenty of rest, take naps whenever i want to.. no rushing around, just take it easy for a while.. and while i like this 'prescription', i'm already starting to feel guilty when i'm doing nothing or not much. most of the time i'm reading or at the computer, either on the couch or in bed. i try to help out with the washing up and stuff but saskia won't always let me.
oh & in other news..
i have I2s in styles now
and..
i am on page 3!
:D
cinqheures, thank you so much for this.. i have no idea why der himmel über berlin wasn't on my latest list of films i need to own. :) not that this list really exists, other than in my head.. thank you, sophie.
hey guys, if you not only read my entries on your friends page but sometimes go to my journal directly, then you may have noticed some changes. first i changed my layout from Generator to Bloggish. then i started working on it or maybe playing with it is a better term.
it's not exactly how i want it yet, but at least i've made a start. i also want to go back in my journal and do some maintenance, like removing links that don't work or photos i don't really like anymore. or maybe style some entries better, using proper CSS. there's no real plan here, no time frame.
if you think you can file all of this under "things to do for people with too much time on their hands", then i don't agree. it's just one of the many reasons why i'm almost never bored..
i created another journal for myself, for testing stuff, like new layouts. i can't use
tamar for that. you'll never now, things only need to go horribly wrong once.. the new one is called
testingtam. there isn't a lot to see, no need to go there. okay, i'll wait for you to come back..
now what did i tell you? okay, it's not a paid account. money doesn't grow on trees you know, at least not around here.. but it doesn't matter. only recently i found a way how to work on a layout for a paid account and enable it for a basic account.
the december issue of the movie magazine i'm subscibed to came with a free DVD of michael moore's fahrenheit 9/11. it's a double disc edition with lots of bonus material. i'm happy with it and it's good that it was made, but it wouldn't have been my choice for the holidays.
oh & guess what? i'm a support volunteer for livejournal since tuesday last week. but i'm too tired to tell you all about that now..
goodnight!
don't blame me if you didn't see any photos in my journal yesterday. most of them are on imageshack. a couple of other people that have their pics stored in that place seem to have the same experience. like the women of
i do hope they will be careful though. i know it's just a bit of fun for them but that might not be the case for everyone..
i'm going to check how imageshack behaves in the next few days. i still have an old photobucket account and a couple of other places where i can store stuff. and i could use pics.livejournal.com some more, i'll see..
okay i'm blushing with embarrassment, but i appear to have a fan club here on livejournal.
but don't worry, kids.. it has only one member! hehehe

& i'll leave you with this:
paul hester took his two dogs for a walk late on friday night last week and hanged himself from a tree in elsternwick park near his home in melbourne. his body was found the next day. hester used to be the drummer of split enz and crowded house.
In her soft wind I will whisper
In her warm sun I will glisten
'Till we see her once again
In a world without end
In her soft wind I will whisper
In her warm sun I will glisten
And I always will remember
In a world without end
She goes on
wow that's a lot of html. have a good weekend..
- Music:crowded house: she goes on
here's what i'd like you to do. everyone, please post a picture of yourself here, as a comment. and tell me a few things about yourself. you don't have to write me a novel, just a couple of lines will do. perhaps this entry will end up in memories, as a reminder, if i happen to forget who you are.. :p
please, do this. i'd really appreciate it.
