90s music monday

it's always interesting to see what other people's choices are, in this case their taste in music.. yes kids, the 80s & 90s music virus is spreading and there seems to be no cure. today it caught passionproject and girlgarden.

my choice today is from the AIDS-benefit compilation album red hot + blue. like every song on that album, it's all right with me was written by cole porter. you also might like to know that this video was directed by jim jarmusch.

tom waits: it's all right with me (from 1990)

That singer that you have on your interests, Wende, I recently saw her on TV. I believe the song was called Anyone Who Had A Heart. Isn't that by Cole Porter?

oh fuck, i love the shit out of tom waits. jarmusch is pretty awesome too when he actually follows through on what he's doing.

i'm not sure, but if you mean that jarmusch doesn't finish what he starts, then he's a bit like me. especially now.. :D

Yes I did post video but so far nobody makes comment. Perhaps they do not like music video very much.

well you shouldn't expect as many comments as you usually get when you're posting photos. people may or may not like the video, but most of them probably won't bother to tell you. also, i have a feeling you're taking this a bit too seriously, but i could be wrong..

Comments are nice, but not most important thing. you are right, Hitomi is always taking everything too seriously. :)

I was born in 1965. I grew up listening to Clapton, The Who, The Stones, Johnny Cash... I find it funny to hear Van Halen on he oldies station. And now I see a thread about 80's and 90's music, when I think most of the 80's and 90's were awful.

Mind you, Queen, Barry White and some funk bands were very cool, but most were sell outs or just plain bad.

great song. A couple of years later Jarmusch shot Waits with Iggy Pop in an awesome scene for his film Coffee and Cigarettes, which did not come out until 2003.
