so much has been written about this already in so many journals, that i didn't really see the point of adding my views on the matter. if you have no idea what i'm talking about, i suggest you read this or this.

(not linked, because some people have been reporting that they found spyware on their computer right after visiting this site)

in this livejournal news post six apart's chairman and ceo barak berkowitz explains the situation and apologizes for screwing up. that's good, though i must admit they took their time..

Isn't that illegal, putting spyware on other peoples computers? And if so, shouldn't somebody tell the site that's hosting them?

well first there has to be proof that they're actually doing that. i'm not sure if it's illegal, i guess it depends on what it does on your computer.

it could be something rather innocent, like a tracking cookie. lots of sites leave those on your computer and i don't think they do any real harm.
