i already told you i have a new ISP. what you don't know yet, is that with this ADSL account comes a little gift: a Nintendo Wii™
it arrived today..

okay, now what?

no, seriously..
of course i've played a few games over the years, but i never owned anything with the Nintendo name on it.

so i could use your input here. what stuff should i absolutely check out. are there things i'd better avoid? which are your favourite games? i would love to hear any suggestions you might have..

Wii Sports that comes with it is what I've played the most. I have several other games for the system, but most of them end up being minigame collections. The rest of the games have some stupid motion control hacked in that's not in the versions on other consoles.

I hear Zack & Wiki, No More Heroes, and a couple others are worth playing. Now, if you don't have other consoles, then that opens it up.

Re: Wii
it makes me laugh that the weapon recharge on NMH is a jerking off motion.

Get Lego Starwars - that game is so cute, and so much fun...

all the games mentioned before and additionally Lego Indiana Jones and Boom Blox

The Wii is a really great multi player system. It's still trying to find it's niche for individual play.

From My Experiance (a friend has Wii) Its all good, But really, any game with lots of movement- the side effect of excersise is wonderful- just dont let go of the control!

It really depends on what your game preferences are.

But here is my chance to pimp Super Smash Brothers Brawl, if you like fighting/arena games. =) It's the only game I currently have for the Wii, but it's lots of fun.

I haven't played The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on it yet, but lots of folks love it. It's an action adventure type game, as are all of the other games in the Zelda series.

Also, you can play GameCube games on it. The ones I have for GC and would recommend are: Super Smash Brothers Melee (fighting/arena), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (action adventure), Soul Calibur 2 (fighting/arena), and the Zelda collector's edition (it has several of the older Zelda games, including Ocarina of Time, which is AMAZING). But if you go that route, you would have to pick up used copies, for the GC was recently discontinued.

EDIT: Yes, I am editing this comment hours after the fact, all because I just now spotted a pesky little typo that probably no one else would notice, LOL.

well, i guess i'm not a very experienced player who likes action-adventure games. i'm not much into the beat- & shoot-'em-up stuff.. i've heard a lot of good things about the legend of Zelda & this here looks great.
ok now i'm going to check what exactly has been edited.. :D

I am the boreing old guy. I have Wii Sports and Wii Games. Both a blast. I also downloaded Pacman, Galaxians, and the original mario brothers. Lego Star Wars is on my list.

You get a free Wii with your ISP?!?!?!.. that's amazing!

As for games.. I've never actually owned a Wii, but my old housemates used to have one. Wii Sport was great fun (although the boxing games was very tiring), and is great to play with a group of people.

Guitar hero is awesome (I've never played it on the Wii though), but again, it's great fun with a group of people.

My housemates seemed to enjoy Zelda a lot on the Wii, and although I never played it myself, it did look like a lot of fun.

yes, with a two-year ADSL account. they're not exactly the cheapest ISP around, but i still think it's a good deal..

depends, what kind of games do you like to play ?

I'm a fan of my Wii's sports really....especially golfing makes me strangely relaxed.
Jun. 23rd, 2008 05:33 pm (UTC)
action-adventure games mainly. not that i'm very experienced.. the shoot-'em-up stuff not so much.
of the Wii sports that came with it, i've so far played tennis and bowling a bit. btw speel je in het echt ook golf?
Jun. 23rd, 2008 03:16 pm (UTC)
Go Wii!
My favorite is still Wii-Sports, especially Tennis rocks :)

Besides that, Mario Kart is a classic for sure and if you have friends come over, I'd recommend the Mario Party series! On the Gamecube, I always liked the Zelda games, but haven't tried those on the Wii yet.

ik zou dolgraag in het echt een keertje golf spelen.... Urban Golf, zeg maar de punk-variant van het echte spelletje , is hier momenteel erg populair en hoop het binnenkort een keertje te kunnen gaan doen. :p
