actually, it looks like we didn't get a single card after thursday last week. that's a bit weird; are so many people late with sending cards this year? this may include me, if i miscalculated the time it takes to deliver them.
christmas dinner with my parents is moved to tomorrow. this turned out to be more convenient for all of us.
even without the help of alcohol or drugs i don't feel stressed at all.
wishing you all a merry whatever you are or aren't celebrating..

Expect yet another card sometime within the next couple of weeks or so (depending on whether I can make it to the post office on Saturday). ;)

I did mail a card... I hope it at least gets there before New Year's!
...for the last six months, i have been working at the most amazing job i have ever had (and i have had a great many jobs, of all sorts), day porter at the Edmond Public Library, the biggest branch in the Oklahoma County system. 7 days a week. what makes it amazing is 2 things; the astonishingly wonderful, sweet, and delightful personnel, and that there are so many of them. it is rare that a job environment is tranquilizing, nurturing, emotionally and psychologically healthy and health-promoting. moreover, it's a library, and my job gives me the time to constantly peruse the stacks of books, children's illustrated books, DVDs, CDs, videotapes -which i can also do online at home. plus, there are many computers, where i can access the web and my own site should i wish to jot a note down. -i tell you all this, and share the pictures, because i'm trying to convey something i think you'd appreciate and enjoy if only i can actually convey it. the town Edmond is 15 miles away from where i live. a conservative, well to do, but quaint Oklahoma village, beautiful and sweet, almost california-like in ambience with nice statuary and such. so this library gets the red carpet treatment, hence my job, a new (contracted) position they began last july. there are many young people ('Pages') working at shelving the books and i see them most as they work in the backroom which i go through to my custodial alley in the back. they are all sweet and kind. i am like their butler and tend to the library afternoons. (a night crew, whom work for the same company as i) does the vacuuming and night cleaning.) i patrol around, self-supervised, cleaning the glass doors, sweeping, emptying the wastebaskets, tending the bathrooms, making small repairs and such. middle of the day, i have a lovely lunch-hour in the lounge with the day's book choices and a hot homecooked lunch. i have heaven at home with my dearest Lisa -and heaven at work. life is beyond good. -and yes, i am still drawing, i simply haven't posted in a long time. i shall.
anyway, here are links to photos from the library...
bless you dear lady, and thank you for the thoughtfulness you give to many.
