the drawing i talked about some time ago. it's just a simple pencil sketch. not exactly art with a capital A, but it's not that bad either. it came out of my scanner a bit yellow-ish and i quite liked that, so i didn't edit it. click on the image on the left and please tell me what you think.

I definitely like the yellowed effect. I like the way it is simplistically disproportionate. It seems much more honest than polished which is the way I tend to work myself. Maybe a little more attention to the facial features would brighten it up a little bit.

hmm...i think you shouldn't be so shy with the shading-it adds volume and makes the whole thing look more realistic. What also helps,is drawing exactly what you see instead of drawing symbols-for example, the way you draw the eyes is the symbol for "eye",not what eyes really look like.
What helps i think when you're drawing people and want to concentrate more on details (like eyes and stuff) is to try to forget that you are drawing a human being-i usually un-focus my eyes, this way the image is more abstract and you can see colors and shading more clearly.

there,a constructive criticism :p

i didn't spend that much time on this sketch. and i know i should have payed more attention to the face. maybe i'll explain this more in a new post.

i think i know what you mean. it was helpful. thank you.

her lips stand out a lot. was that intentional? keep it up... i like the conservative shading

thanks. no not really intentional, but it was done quickly. i'm going to spend more time on details, like facial features, on the next one.
