staying in is the new going out

you were wondering how a couple of old spinsters like us spend a saturday night? well, sometimes
[ s o m e t i m e s ]
we just stay at home and enjoy ourselves just as much - or maybe even more - than we would have, had we gone out and party. reading parts from all kinds of books and magazines out loud to each other while there was fa cup football on television (portsmouth - arsenal) and pizza in the oven. i believe it was the first time i had spinach on mine.

later, from about 9:00pm, the inspector lynley mysteries. watching a 90-minutes-long drama, without any commercial breaks, who, besides the elderly, does that these days? well ok, we do. it's not that we want those damn commercials, but a few moments to stretch your legs or get something to drink wouldn't be a bad idea. that's why we usually tape quite a lot.
and we talked. and talked. you don't want me to recall all the subjects, do you? hey, how bored are you?

nearly everything on tv is repeated after a while, but cold feet is still good. and so is going to bed.
i can't repeat that enough..

I love staying in.

In fact, I can't wait until all of this political mess in the U.S. is over so I can do that instead of feel required to fight the government on my weekends.

There's a happiness in your tone. Good for you.
