What units are you using? Hundreds? :)

You always take excellent shots. There's been more stuff in the news here about the EU stuff... France, Netherlands, Belgium, etc.

well we had one amusing story, sort of a small diplomatic row.
in a newspaper interview the belgian foreign minister blamed our prime minister balkenende for failing to persuade the dutch to vote in favour of the constitution. balkenende was also described as a mix between harry potter and a brave rigid bourgeois.
our prime minister was not amused. the belgian ambassador was summoned to give an explanation. the belgian minister claimed he hadn't said those exact words. then the belgian newspaper said he did and they had proof of this on tape. the belgian minister apologised. the belgian prime minister phoned his dutch colleague. and that was that.

according to balkenende the dutch people were offended. well i don't know about others, but personally, i can't say i was. :p
and many have likened him to harry potter before, so there's nothing new there either.

hehe much ado about nothing..

Nice shot and
you have fortitude shooting in B&W. I enjoy B&W but as you suggested your ususal approach , I shoot in color and convert to B&W or sepias if the mood demands it. But that philosphy probably comes from shooting snapshots instead of photographs...
And we want to met this guy who sarted the community you mentioned. See, you have MANY fans! Hopefully we'll be seeing more of your collection YOUR FANS "DEMAND" it, OK, strong workd, would REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY like to see more....

Re: Nice shot and blah blah
I haven't posted my shots. Most shots I do as of late are for events (I help a couple other people) and tend not to retain any of the files..makes my life simpler since I attempt 3 other jobs....guess its easier admiring other people's shots rather than taking time to deal with mine...

techie question, do you usually shoot RAW? or jpg?

Re: Nice shot and blah blah
jpg almost all the time.
i know, each time you save a jpg there's a loss of some data.. it depends on the amount of compression of course, but you have to edit and save a picture so many times before anyone will start to notice, especially on the web..

for a couple of rather large prints i used RAW, but they're a bit of a hassle if you ask me.. :p

p.s.
lately i've been posting most of my photos in PNG format, but that only works with imagehosts that don't have a bandwidth problem..
i learned about this format in the days i still had time for webdesign. apparently PNG comes highly recommended by the W3C.

Unreleted but

This is an article about a baseball player from the Netherlands playing in a local (here) semi-pro baseballleague. The only reason I post it is cuzz he's from the Netherlands & you are (duh). Not that it means anything, but you may find it of interest.

B/W is cool. Here is a pic of my children from a few years ago. The B/W brings more depth to the pic (IMO).

My son just turned 9 and my daughter is 6. The picture is from a few years ago. They look like angles on the beach, but right after the picture was taken, my daughter picked up a handful of wet sand and dumped it on my sons head.

Do you have any children?

Well, there are plenty of children in the world now, so the need to add more is not needed.

Although, if you and your partner know you want children and will support, love and raise them, they can enrich your lives like nothing else. But they are a lot of work, mentelly, financially and emotionally.

I'd never change the fact that I have children.

Take care.
